Cold, Warm and Hot Audience Segments and Remarketing lists

Here’s a pretty simple way to start segmenting your Google analytics into audiences that you can then create remarketing lists from, and use in follow-up campaigns.

  • COLD = first-time visitors

  • WARM = direct visitors, returning visitors, brand term keyword searches (organic and paid), onsite searchers, social media link clickers or referral visits etc

  • HOT = all visitors who’ve returned more than 3 times to the site, all goal starters, all checkouters/ carters (for ecommerce) etc

To help get you started here are the 3 segments already defined and ready to go. Please feel free to edit the rules that define these segments as required (as the ones shared are just a starting point)
